About
“No Illusions” is a blog and a podcast that started in November 2004 under another name “G’Day World”. It started as a weekly technology podcast but quickly evolved into my personal exploration into politics, religion, philosophy, science, and futurism. It’s mostly an interview-based show and over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to interview hundreds of amazing people, including some of the world’s leading thinkers, politicians, activists, scientists and entertainers.
About me, the host – Cameron Reilly
I’m the Co-Founder, Owner and CEO of The Podcast Network, the world’s first podcasting business, and one of Australia’s largest independent media companies with over 500,000 monthly listeners. I’m also the host of several other podcasts on TPN, including:
- The Napoleon Bonaparte Podcast – a very popular show about Napoleon Bonaparte, for which I was awarded the Legion Of Merit in 2008.
- The Advaita Podcast – a show about philosophy
- The Biography Show – a show about people who shaped human history, for better or for worse.
- The Single Man’s Guide To Cooking Up Great Shit – a cooking show for single blokes.
I’m also the founder of:
Twittories – a crazy idea to try to get people on Twitter to each write 140 characters of a short story… using Twitter.
MODM – a monthly drinks night for people involved in digital media which started in Melbourne in March 2007.
The Church Of LOTU – a religion for atheists and critical thinkers. Don’t laugh until you read it.
Geeks Who Care – a volunteer group that tries to apply the skills, knowledge and contacts of geeks around Australia to doing good works in their local communities.
I was recently included in the list of 40 Biggest Players in Australia’s Digital Age by B&T Magazine, featured on the front cover of Australia’s Bulletin magazine and profiled in Australian Anthill magazine, and my company, The Podcast Network, was selected by EContent Magazine as one of their Top 100 Companies that matter most in the digital content industry.
