"That said, they're engineering students." ???

What does THAT mean, Miriam? I was an engineering student, and I recently learned of polyamory, and think it's a great concept, but are you implying something about techies? lol

FYI - Cherie and I now have a joint website to chronicle our adventures: www.technomadia.com

We are starting to put the pieces in place to do a podcast. Stay tuned for that...

Did a quick survey of my friends and only one of them had heard of polyamory. That said, they're engineering students.

Has no-ne seen or heard of the show in the states, either Showtime or HBO, called Big Love?

Guy with 3 kids all living in houses next to each other, huge backyard :P, and multiple kids. It's not too bad.

You can't possibly mean to tell me that none of you have ever heard of the word 'polyamourous' before?? Just checked Colin, he's heard of it. I'm going to do a quick survey of my friends at uni today.
I'm not suggesting that it's a particularly common lifestyle choice but there have been at least 3 or 4 articles about it in various womens magazines over the last couple of years.

Wow... Now I know what my problem is. I keep getting trapped into the white-bread monogamous relationships while I should be practicing "polyamoury." (Firefox's dictionary doesn't know what to make out of that word!) Seriously, though, the thought of limiting myself to one relationship just doesn't work for me.

Becoming a Technomad is a whole other story, though. I have so much accumulated junk in my life. I doubt I could divest myself of all the books I own and go on a journey with no end. I'd love to, and I could probably get every book I own into a PDF format, but there's something about a "dead tree" book that does it for me. I don't think I could give them up.

It truly would be a very interesting podcast, though. Both the Technomad idea and the polyamorous one. I'd certainly subscribe.
