These are great prompts for further development on the "what did I accomplish" theme.

Thanks for listening, and I'm already looking forward to our next conversation!

Tonight I'm in a position where it would be FAR less stressful to concentrate on what I've achieved today rather than what I have to do later.

I finished my programming assignment. Unfortunately now I have to start writing the report for my machine design assignment so I probably won't get much sleep between now and Monday when it's due.

Fortunately my mind comes with a don't-want-to-think-about-it filter. Although when it breaks under the weight of all the stress I'm blocking out bad things happen.

yep, last night I wrote down the achievements for the day. didn't make feel that great as it was hard to not concentrate on all the things yet to do.

I guess the tough one for you is that things like watching movies become partly work for you as you then review them for the movie show. So in the background you are always thinking " this would be a great podcast".

Maybe its time to get somebody else on board to do some of the thousands of little tasks that are keeping you up till 2am. That way you can focus on the things you are great at. Don't forget to constantly look at opportunity cost. This can be tough in start ups because one or two people handle everything, even the things they are not great at.

I reckon we should both check in with each other in a week and see how the 'positive daily review' process has enabled us to sleep or switch off more easily.

Angus - yeah I already find it hard to force myself to go to bed around 2 or 3 am most nights because I have so much yet to get done. Reminding myself about the things left to do each day, rather than distract myself by reading, sounds tricky. However, if you can frame it as "look at all the great things I did today, I deserve to rest"... ?

Cam, I really think that you should take Jason's advice and try that pre bed brain dump for 5 days and report back. I found the comment on not reading a book or watching the news interesting. I had been a big believer in distracting your brain to sleep. Perhaps I may integrate the brain dump with my GTD processes that are still a long way from where I want them to be.

The thing I would find hard doing the brain dump is to not re-excite myself about one of the things I was writing down and then not be able to go to sleep.

One thing I have observed about a guy I work with is the idea of writing in a day per page diary all the decisions/major events of the day. He has even used that thing in court. That could work as a 'success log'

I'd be keen to join in on a show. I just finished David's book and got my first tablet from Hugo Ortega. I've got a million apps and hacks in my sights at the moment and i'd love to chat about the nuts and bolts of implementation (which list app, calendar, reference tools, etc). From the tech side and not so tech side. If anyone's keen??

I use the Shure SM50 but they require a mixing desk. I've heard good reviews of the Samson USB podcasting mic:

I have a fairly dodgy mic but I'm missing confidence, something to say, and spare time.
Besides the last thing I need is an excuse to be reading more productivity blogs.

Bigger problem, I don't have a microphone... except the built in one.
What's a good brand? (also, what are the bad ones?)
